Well, well, what do we have here? It's loudmouth, self-proclaimed supermodel Janice Dickinson (ex judge from America's Next Top Model) for PETA. She has instituted a o fur?policy for her agency after viewing a video of animals being killed for their fur. Yup, they'd rather go nekkid than wear fur.

Who here thinks this is a marketing ploy? I mean, parading on Hollywood Boulevard? Well done Ms Janice Dickinson, you've certainly caught our attention. Props to the woman nonetheless. I just hope she doesn't pull a Naomi Campbell. Judging from her behaviour, you know she's so capable of that.

Looks like Macy Gray's jumped onto the band wagon too. The singer has created a fashion label, due out in autumn, called Humps.

"My humps, my humps, my lovely lady lumps. Check it out."

In an interview with musicOMH.com, she described her label as
"... real, real colorful and graphic-driven - everyday streetwear, really comfortable, casual great stuff."

    Hmmm... I have my reservations.

Presenting Amanda Bynes' dear collection for Steve & Barry.
Oh you know, the obscure Nickelodeon actress.

    The look? Very FOREVER 21.
Target audience? Most likely prepubescent teenage girls.
Any takers? *Forgive me, but I'm arrogant like that.

Did you also know that Mandy Moore launched her clothing line, Mblem last Spring?

At the rate this is going, I wouldn't be surprise if the 'designer' in every celeb/socialite bursts forth. Be ready to see them overtake the fashion industry. Whether they succeed or not, is another question.

  • BITTEN by SJP

Sarah Jessica Parker will have you know that

June 7th, 2007 saw the unveiling of Sarah Jessica Parker's Bitten collection for Steve & Barry's. Her clothing line, all priced at US$20 or less promises quality to all shoppers.
"This is a completely new way of thinking. I loved this philosophy. I love the idea of quality affordable clothing for everybody."

    - SJP

Her designs boasts versatility as well as style for women of all ages and sizes. These are clothes you can wear everywhere at any time of the day- to the mall, to the office, to a cocktail party and even to go to bed at night.

    - 3/4 Sleeve Woven Henley $9.98

    - Trouser Shorts $9.98

    - Faux Leather Belt $7.98

    - Assorted Bangles $5.98

    - Double V-Neck Tank Dress $19.98

    - Graphic Shirttail Hem Tee $7.98

    - Strapless Dress $19.98

    - 3/4 Sleeve Henley $9.98

    - Cuff Sleeve Shirt Dress $19.98

    - Assorted Necklaces $5.98

Not everyone however are thrilled with Sarah Jessica's manifesto. 'DULL' and 'BORING' were some of the words used to describe her line. Critiques have also likened BITTEN to Gap, of which the former star of Sex And The City was a spokesperson for.

Her pieces may slightly resemble the latter in regards of colour and comfort. However, it allows room for creativity and individuality- wear it as it is or layer it, pair it with chunky accessories or keep it simple with just a belt. Every piece will reflect one's personal style.

    SJP in BITTEN

People tend to associate Sarah Jessica Parker with Sex And The City and expect her designs to be tad bit flashy ala Carrie Bradshaw. Don't get me wrong, I like Carrie's style but if you've noticed, SJP has always been a basics girl.

Personally, I love her clothing line. I think the price is excellent for basics unlike *cough* Gap*cough* (which I've never and will never pay retail for). I reckon we should all just Get Bitten

The boy asked if I wanted anything from the States.

    I said, "No".

    What was I thinking?!?!

Well, if it's any consolation, he'll be sitting for an exam soon and thereafter whisked off to China for work. I'd feel terrible if I were to ask him to go to the mall (there are 3 outlets near his home. i've checked) to get the Double V-Neck Tank Dress + Hem Tee (2nd pic) in my size.

I might have to rethink that. Honestly, I want everything I've posted above!

*LC, doesn't that dress (2nd pic) remind you of the one you have, which I kept going on about how nice I thought it was? In a similar shade if I'm not mistaken?

  • Backlash

UK celebrity gossip site, HolyMoly have launched their very own "I AM a plastic bag" campaign. Is this an act of fashion rebelion by anti-Hindmarch fans or a stint to cash in on the profits from the sale of the notorious shopping tote, "I'm NOT a plastic bag"?

Shoppers were outraged when the Evening Standard revealed that Hindmarch's sold out shopper was manufactured in factories in CHINA. The public were duped into thinking that the 'truly ethical bag' was made using organic cotton and Fair Trade manufacturing practices. How dare Hindmarch claim 'ethics' when misrepresenting a product is anything but ethical?

    Eco-friendly my a**!
I say get me one of them HolyMoly 'PLASTIC BAG'!

*Ok, I wouldn't (get the 'Plastic Bag'). I care far more about the environment than to make a fashion statement.

Karl Lagerfeld, Alber Elbaz and Marc Jacobs were invited by Paris boutique Colette to pose alongside stills of their cartoon selves for the same magazine that featured Julius Preite's illustrations, Harper's Bazaar.
